Midrin is used for abortive relief of migraine and
tension headaches. It is a combination medication containing isometheptene
(vascular constrictor), acetaminophen (analgesic), and dichloralphenazone
(mild sedative).
Midrin is effective for many patients, and especially
when taken early in the attack. On occasion, it is used for limited periods of
time as a preventative. It is considered to be non-addicting and associated
with minimal rebound effects.
